Port Street Commons — Building Inclusive Communities from the Ground Up
At Fello, reimagining communities means turning bold ideas into real places where people belong. That vision came to life with the launch of Port Street Commons in November 2024—a milestone moment for Easton and the broader Mid-Shore region.
“Port Street Commons was born from people seeking more choice and control in how they live and receive support,” said Jonathon Rondeau, President & CEO of Fello. “It’s a powerful opportunity to address overlapping challenges and create the infrastructure to serve more people, more meaningfully.”
Port Street Commons blends affordable housing, vital services, and welcoming community space—all designed to reflect the full diversity of the people who call Easton home.
A New Kind of Neighborhood
Fello saw opportunity in a centrally located, semi-wooded lot at 480 Port Street—a blank canvas to build something transformational. In just 18 months, and with nearly $6.5 million raised, Port Street Commons went from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting.
“Easton’s energy and this space aligned with our mission to build connection and inclusion,” said Jonathon. “This was the place where our vision could take root.”
Housing, Health, and Belonging—Under One Roof
Fello Easton now serves as Fello’s Eastern Shore headquarters, with new space for offices, a Professional Development Center, a Community Hub for day services, a Behavioral Health suite, and a Health at Work clinic. Over the next three years, the expanded footprint will support regional growth and create 30 new jobs.
The Residences at Port Street offer nine affordable housing units for people earning up to 65% of the Area Median Income, including two fully accessible units. Each apartment features a thoughtful design inspired by the region, plus in-unit laundry, energy-efficient appliances, and free Wi-Fi.
This model—where people can live, work, receive support, and connect—is setting a new standard for inclusive community development. Together, they serve as a community hub—blending housing, wellness, economic opportunity, and connection under one roof.
Affordable Housing in Action
Before opening, a public lottery drew more than 200 applicants in 24 hours—including Jamie, a single mother seeking stability and independence.
“Having a safe, beautiful home close to my job and family is a dream come true,” Jamie shared. “Now my daughter and I have our own space and our own future.”
For families like Jamie’s, Port Street Commons is more than housing—it’s a launching point for a stronger life.
Investing in Easton’s Future
Port Street Commons reflects Fello’s commitment to scalable, inclusive development that blends housing, health, and opportunity. It also supports Easton’s own economic revitalization goals.
“Projects like this lift our whole community,” said Easton Mayor Megan Cook. “We’re proud to see leaders taking smart, bold action that benefits everyone.”
As Fello looks ahead, we’re building on this momentum—creating more inclusive infrastructure and reimagining what communities can be when everyone belongs.
